Derby to Kununurra 2013

Held each June, a group of people and support crew ride on Australia Post postie bikes from Derby to Kununurra to raise money for sick children in Western Australia.

Thanks to Australia Post this is an adventure with a difference, with riders using old Postie Bikes to complete the trip. The ride of over 700 kilometres takes five days and is predominantly on unsealed roads. Riding up to 300 kilometres a day, negotiating creek crossings, (some creeks are inhabited with saltwater crocodiles!) and sleeping under the stars – the Gibb River Ride is like no other event.

Since 2012 the Gibb River Ride has raised over $200,000 for brain cancer research.
